The Director of Quality Improvement & Care Management is responsible for providing the oversight, direction, coordination and integration of quality and patient safety; for contributing to the strategic planning for SCVMC to achieve the SHC vision; for executing entity strategic plans, and for partnering with executives, directors and department leaders in the continuously improving clinical outcomes and reducing risk. The position is also responsible for the effectiveness and efficiency of: adverse event reporting and risk reduction, physician peer review, clinical analytics, data management and report distribution.
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience in leadership role.
Clinical background is required.
Demonstrates Proficiency Level 2 of NAHQ Healthcare Quality Professional Competencies.
Minimum five years’ experience in performance improvement preferred.
Proficient in Lean Six Sigma and Change Management tools and techniques.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Cerner EHR, Crimson Continuum of Care, Truven, Cerner, NHSN, 3M, and other computer applications.
Masters in healthcare related field or business required.
Clinical licensure such as RN, Pharm, or RCP preferred.
CPHQ, CPPS, ASHRM certification preferred
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of governmental and regulatory agencies as it relates to quality and patient safety requirements, including: CMS, TJC, CDPH and Title 22, NQF, and other external agency requirements.
Works effectively with physicians, all levels of management, staff and business partners
Demonstrated management and interpersonal skills necessary to communicate, facilitate, and negotiate effectively with a wide variety of hospital personnel.
Capable of setting priorities and working with time constraint pressures
Must be results and outcomes oriented
Performs under minimal supervision with accountability for specific goals/objectives.
